Pune airport is 12 kms from the city Lohgaon Airport is barely 22 kms. From Talawade, where regular commercial flights operate to Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore.

Pune airport is situated at Lohagaon area, which is 10 Km/6mile from the city. The airport is operating a daily flight load of around 7-8 flights of Jet Air, Indian Airlines and Gujarat Airways for the sectors Pune-Bangalore , Pune -Delhi, Pune -Ahmedabad , Pune-Hyderabad,  Pune-Goa. The airport is out of city limits considering the other airports locations in India.The airport is small but well maintained as spoken to Mr. M.R. Srinivasan - Indian Airports Authority by Indiatravelite. The airport incharge is Mr. V. S.Mukekar.   • §         How To Get From The Airport Transport:

You can book the taxi from prepaid taxi counter which charges:

-Rs. 200 for Non A/C service and

-Rs. 300 for A/C service for 20 Km & 1 hour.

One of the taxi counter operator is Makson. You can also get the car from here if you are planning to go to Shirdi or Mahableshwar directly from the Airport. Outside the Airport you can get regular taxis, however, they are not metered and charge approximately Rs. 150 for the city drop. Auto-Rickshaws (3-Wheelers) are also available charging Rs. 100/- for the city drop. The cheapest way to reach the city is by Ex-Armymen ordinary bus service for which the charges are from Rs. 20 to Rs. 25 and generally available during flight timings and tickets can be booked from their stall next to BPL Mobile stall.  

Rail  :

Pune is one of the busiest Railway junctions in India. There are many Express trains plying between Pune and Mumbai.  Mumbai-Pune distance by rail is 192 kms. Chennai-Pune distance is 1,088 kms.  

Road :

Pune is on the NH4 (National highway), which is the busiest highway in the country. The distance between Mumbai and Pune by road is Pune 170 kms, between Nashik and Pune 209 kms, and between  Aurangabad and Pune 230 kms. There are many shuttle buses between Pune and Mumbai run by State Transport and private transporters alike. Also there is an excellent rivate Taxi Service available from Pune and Dadar stations.
