THEATRE :

The city is very well known for its theatrical past. The very famous Bal Gandharva who has created a milestone in the field of Marathi Sangeet Rangabhoomi, hails from Pune. People in Pune are very much involved in Marathi literature .The famous author P.L. Deshpande is also lived in Pune. There are a number of theatres in Pune. 

Bal Gandharva Theatre:  this theatre is named after the famous stage performer called Bal Gandharva. All the plays are hosted here and is situated in the heart of the city. 

Bharat Natya Mandir: This is one of the oldest theatres in Pune. it is a preferred place to host plays for children .All the other plays are also hosted here. This theatre is in the olden parts of the city.

Tilak Smark Mandir: Situated near SP college this beautiful auditorium hosts regularly popolar marathi plays, Indian classical music concerts, cultural shows and many exhibitions on art and handicraft.
