speed of 64 KBPS on switched connection basis. However, if the Digital Data
Communication requirements exceed more than two and a half hours to three
hours a day, between two specific points, it would be economical to avail
International Digital Leased Lines.
International
Digital Leased Lines are suitable for bulk users who have large
communication requirements between two specific points on round the clock
basis. VSNL can meet your International Leased Line service requirements
either through analog media far speed upto 9600 BPS or through digital media
for speed of 64 KBPS and above.
International Leased Line either from its Telecom Gateways at Mumbai,
New Delhi, Calcutta, Chennai, Pune and Bangalore or through Intelsat
Business Service. International Digital Leased Line could also be extended
from cities like Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Kanpur, Ranchi, Trivandrum, Nasik,
Baroda etc where domestic digital link connectivity upto VSNL Telecom
Gateway exists. For any locations, where domestic digital link connectivity
upto VSNL Telecom Gateway is not available, Intelsat
Business service and Inmarsat High Speed Data provides an ideal
option.
VSNL has so far Commissioned over 350 International Digital Leased
Line circuits from various locations in India.
COMMUNICATION GATEWAYS TO THE WORLD

Videsh
Sanchar Nigam Limited, a Government of India Enterprise, covers India’s
International Telecommunications through four International Telecom Gateways
at Mumbai, New Delhi, Chennai and Calcutta. It has also upgraded it’s
existing facilities at Bangalore and Pune to data Gateways to meet digital
circuits requirements at Bangalore, Pune and adjoining regions.
These
Gateways are interconnected through National Telecom Digital Links of
Department of Telecommunication and provide reliability of operation.
INTERNATIONAL DIGITAL LEASED LINE
CONFIGURATION
VSNL
provides International Digital Leased Line through one of the six
Telecom Gateways at
Mumbai,New delhi, Chennai, Calcutta, Pune and Banglore depending upon the location of the customers
premises and availability connecting links to international destinations.
Countries which are not directly accessible from these Telecom Gateways are
accessed via transit facilities of some other country. Transmission media is
either via satellite or submarine cable or both. VSNL establishes half
circuit (from the gateway to the mid point of the submarine cable or
satellite facility ) and co-ordinates with:

domestic telecom authority namely Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL)/Department
of telecommunications (DOT)for local leads to the customers premises and

Foreign Telecom authority to provide customer with the other half
international circuit local leads at distant end.
